Not all station rehabs are exact duplicates of the originals. The express stations on the 4 Av Line in Bkln originally had a distinct tile pattern of alternating rows of large square and small rectangular tiles in a horizontal pattern. While DeKalb and 36 were rehabbed that way, Pacific St (now Barclay) was redone in a pattern of all square tiles like the exp stations on the Bway Subway in Manhattan. The tiles on the IND at stations like 59 St and 42/8 also had certain design features added that were not part of the original design. Bway/Laf wasn’t even redone in the correct shade of blue. |
