While I preferred the R-32s operationally, I don't think the R-38s were any less stylish although I think the sheen on the R-38s would have been nicer if the cars had been manufactured by Buss instead of St Louis. Also, if they had been built by Budd, they might very well still be operating today although probably at the expense of the R-32s which may have ended up being scrapped sooner. |
