Chances are if you research enough you can probably find quite a long list of demolitions that took place in the construction of the IND. If the lines that were intended to use the S 4 St station shell were built, it looks like a number of buildings east of Union Av would have had to be torn down since S 4 St ends at Union Ave. It wouldn’t surprise me if the buildings in the path of the Schermerhorn St line would have needed to be demolished if the subway were to have continued west of Court St towards Manhattan.
