You don't seem to realize to a lot of older generations, BASEBALL is STILL king even if the NFL is the 800-pound gorilla of sports:Especially in 1994 and given that would have at the time been the first time the Yankees would have been in the postseason since the strike-shortened 1981 season, there were a lot of people PO'ed at Clinton for not issuing an Executive Order forcing that season to be played out in its entirety even if it forced the NFL to move back their schedule to accommodate a delayed finish to the MLB season. As said, people in NYC openly admitted they voted for Pataki to get back to Clinton for not doing that and that while not the sole reason did play a big part in why the elder Cuomo lost. That in turn is why IMO the current Governor is as he is. |
