It looks like there's only 3 "pairs" of skip-stops, one on the west end of the line and two on the east end (so the most a typical commuter would reasonably skip is 2 stops).Actually, it's three pairs going to Frankford - Berks (A), York-Dauphin (B), Huntingdon (A), Somerset (B), Tioga (A) and Church (B). But, as you write, even skipping three stops is not saving much time. As recently as 1983 there were still two pairs in West Philadelphia and four on the way to Frankford. |
