What I see here is the same building from opposite sides. The top picture has stairs from the platform that lead possibly to the headhouse and possibly directly to the street. These stairs head down to the north. The second photo shows stairs to track level, probably left over from the very old days, that head down to the south.In the second picture you can see where the stairs from the platform come up but it is unclear whether they go straight out to the street or into the headhouse. The headhouse looks like it may be boarded up. When I'm at Botanic Garden station these days I peer down towards Prospect Park and I can't even figure out where the old platform went beyond the 2 car length it is now. |
