An extension of the 31st St. Astoria el can be 2 tracks of fully concrete railroad with only 1 pillar instead of 2 parallel ones. Build it like the air train and WMATA above ground railroads. It will be much quieter (listen to the #7 above Queens Blvd.) than the current line. Plus isn't 31st St. much wider past Ditmars Blvd.?NIMBY's be damned! |
