Excluding CBTC, which I don't know much about, the problem is Con Ed not supplying enough AC power for these new signals to operate properly. King Cuomo called out Con Ed some time ago on this issue, but nothing further has been made public.Today there are Master Towers all over the B Division with Control Center controlling it all in the IRT. Today, thanks to towers being far away from switches we have hundreds of relay rooms. All the new signals have delayed key-by and black boxes. All this requires more power. Has Con Ed kept up? Has MTA followed up? Are all these signal & switch failures the result of low voltage? |
