The issue is that on the older cars, when the door panel was fully closed the door arm moved "over center" and was locked. To unlock and open the panel, two circuits had to be energized before the motor could move the arm over center to allow the panel to open. On the new tech trains there is a linear motor that drives the door panel and it requires an electronic lock. Some of these locks were found out of adjustment.
