All the doing of the Gulf Stream.And in eastern Europe, it has less effect, which is why Moscow is so much colder than Oslo. And by the time you get to central Asia, the oceans have minimal effect at all. Ulan Bator has far greater seasonal temperature swings than any place in North America. Though even in North America, the typical summer high in the Fraser Valley of BC, at latitude 50, is close to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. |
