From the report I've read, the 179s will receive CBTC (if they haven't already), and be removed from the Eastern division.They will be replaced with non CBTC R160 cars, since the Jamaica El won't be getting the new signal system at this point in time. Doesn't make sense to me. All NTT rolling stock should be CBTC by now regardless of whether the line is wired or not. The fact that there are routes that won't get the new system is crazy. |
