The MTA's 1968 Program for Action contained for the LIRR link but as Joe V. wrote,was buried by the mid 1970s and that was due by the fiscal crisis.When it resurfaced as part the Port Authority condition to assist in the Penn Station deal was they wanted a direct LIRR link to JFK. They did not plan on funding it and nor was there any money in the MTA Capital Program to do so. |
