Their project is probably running on or ahead of schedule, and the HOB/33rd trains simply could not handle the load. They barely make do as it is, especially with ridiculous 35 minute intervals extending up to 8am on Saturdays and 10am on Sundays. Cheaper to extend the EXPL trains to WTC than add a supplemental HOB-33rd service, or no one at HOB would be able to board the northbound JSQ trains. The crowding at Newport(Pavonia) would also be impossible with the shopping mall adjacent. |
