If anything, this fiasco demonstrates the sheer incompetence of Metro management which considered meeting an arbitrary deadline was more important than testing the new construction. How could catenary be installed too low in five locations causing damage to half the fleet? Aren't there standards to be followed in installing wires? At the transfer point between Green and Blue Lines, used by hundreds of people daily, both the escalator and elevator were blocked off. Isn't that an ADA violation? I call it criminal negligence. |
