Modern technology is there and actually has been since the entire Dekalb/Gold St interlocking complex was redone circa 1960. The problem seems to be gun shy tower operators. It used to be standard instruction to train operators that “what you punch is what you get” but apparently some probably know nothing superintendents want the Dekalb tower staff to wimp out and triple check the route requests. |
