When the MTA issued the LGA study and proposal...They had alternate routes using the 63rd St Tunnel and city streets via the Sunnyside yard. A Grand Central Parkway route from the Astoria Blvd station was dismissed due to grades and property issues. Over several billion dollars set aside for the subway was used for other projects...such as buying new buses. |
