The AC on the R-46 is 9 Tons per end or 216,000 BTU per car. That was the same as on the 60 foot cars. By contrast, the R44s had 240,000 BTU per car. Of course in 1991 when the R46s we're overhauled, the size of the HVAC Units we're seen as adequate. |
