Thank you for the explanation and the math. It makes sense now that they are raising the bridge. I wonder they are going to still use the old bridge as is? So they will bring in the track laying crew and raise the grade? Thanks, Sand Box JohnThey will likely bring in cribbing blocks and set them under the bridge near the load bearing points and put hydraulic jacks on top, Lift the bridge, Grout in the higher bearing points blocks on the abutments and reset the bridge and heighten wall of the abutments. Something like this with hydraulic jacks under the bridge minus the wheels:  John in the sand box of Maryland's eastern shore. |
