Very nice- thanks for sharing. I remember this as well. For all the overhaul's inadequacies, I still think the only other choice offered was abandonment, so I'm glad it took place.

As for the very shiny R68 in Pic5 (also Pic 10), I'd guess the TA shined them up especially for the occasion. Yes, the cars were still quite new then (newer than R142/142As are today), but I don't think they'd have looked that good without help.
