That’s exactly the way it operated and it required 2 T/Os to do the move one at each end. I suspect that if that operation were done today, it would be done like the T/Sq shuttle with 2 OPTO qualified T/Os and no C/R. Actually back in the early IRT days, the Lenox shuttle which only operated from 145 St, operated into the S/B exp tk at 96 St and turned back to the N/B exp tk at a tail switch at the S/E of the station. The switch was removed when the 96 St station was extended south to 94 st to allow the closing of 91 St station. |
