According to a BMT old timer I knew, originally, BMT lines were designated east and west instead of north and south. Lvg CI, and the Eastern Div terminals was west and outbound towards CI and the eastern Div terminals was east. How that played out with the Astoria and Flushing Lines I don’t know, since lvg Flushing is physically westbound but technically part of a Southern Div CI bound line it would probably be considered eastbound. |
