If it was on the slide mount, I would have to say yes, because on the date of the 50th Anniversary of the IND (Friday, September 10, 1982), I remember actually riding an R-10 set on a northbound "A" run going up to 207th Street during the evening rush hour.

According to one eyewitness account, it was up to around as late to February 1983 that an R-10 set was still seen on the "A". And then, the first round of car purges started in Spring 1983.
