It could have been any Jewish organization with sufficient clout like the United Jewish Appeal or the Anti Defamation League. As a slight off topic aside, it’s too bad that Catholic organizations like the Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Knights of Columbus can’t muster the same clout as the Jewish organizations.
