I was a teenager at the time and as most, I did as I pleased breaking many laws . Within 6 months of Rudy taking office the attitudes of the police officers changed . Looking the other way was no longer going to fly. They actively pursued law breakers . Drinking in the park setting garbAge cans on fire was not going to be ttollerated, illegal joker poker machines will be confiscated and vAndalism not tolerated . People changed their behaviors in middle and working class areas . He saved the city . I love the Dinkins apologists . Nice man, clueless leader.He locked up the crooks and let people live their lives |
