It’s different when you have become accustomed to a “scheduled” service like commuter RRs and the Rockaways but when you have become accustomed to the more frequent service as provided by rapid transit long intervals between trains doesn’t make much sense. If a passenger were to get to his/her station a few minutes ahead of a scheduled express it might make just as much sense to take a regular local rather than wait for the express which may or may not get the passenger to his destination much if at all earlier than the lcl that they let go by. |
