Posted by chuchubob on Fri Aug 23 12:26:33 2019 Ten participants in a large railfan email list railfanned SEPTA on Thursday. Several members of the group came from out of town, so we met at 30th Street Station at 10 AM for a 10:19 start on Thorndale train 521 to Radnor. One participant came on the NJ Transit Atlantic City Line from Egg Harbor City scheduled to arrive 30th Street at 10:00. It arrived at 10:16 (late AC Line trains are now the norm), but SEPTA train 521 was 7 minutes late, so he made it.The plan was to take the P&W (Norristown High Speed Line) to Norristown and back to 69th Street Terminal, but since train 521 was late, the slow walkers didn't make it in time. northbound P&W that we didn't ride  We took the next inbound to 69th Street and went to the trolley platform.   We rode a route 102 to Drexel Hill Junction...    ...and Route 101 to Media.    After lunch we took Media/Elwyn train 3240 to 30th Street.   Next was Route 34 to 48th & Baltimore for a few pix.    Next was a return to 30th Street Station...  ...and Trenton Local train 9741 to Cornwells Heights, but I bailed out at North Philly.    |
