There seems to be an order of competent. Box trucks, then local drivers then OTR drivers. The former being the least competent. While I was driving somewhere last week, my mind wandered to the thought that I don't really see the height sign in advance. I forget where this was, it was a lower bridge, and there's no sign until you're actually at the place with the bridge. So what are you supposed to do? Reverse a quarter mile to get off that road? Same issue with most on-ramps and directional signage. Most of it around the country actually sucks, or is plain missing. Maybe some warning is more in order before we put up air raid sirens. |
