This is on land controlled by the State, and Nassau taxpayers were not asked to foot the bill for the arena. At the other location, they tried to give away development rights worth far more than the cost of rebuilding the Coliseum, and failing that wanted Nassau taxpayers to foot the bill for an arena far bigger than the county needed. They voted against it. |
