In 20 years, not a single diesel line platform has been lengthened, and there are plenty that hold 1 or 2 cars, to say nothing of the West Hempstead Branch with a minimum rush hour trains of 6 cars and all platforms are 4 cars. Westwood and Malverne could easily be extended.

LIRR does not care about regular service or dwell times, only blowing lots of capital money for special events.
