Calling the Z a diamond doesn't make much sense since it's a separate service, not a variant of the J. A J diamond would work if the skip-stop was rearranged such that (J) makes all stops, and is peak-direction express making only Z stops. However, from what I understand, the current J/Z split is required to manage loads on the Jamaica line, and an express would result in overloading the local (J).
