I was driving back from Pennsylvania on Sunday night and had hoped to stop at Monticello Raceway for a few minutes when I discovered that the racino has been permanently closed. It might have been a good place for Nassau OTB's casino, but the politicians wimped out and transferred those 1,000 machines to Resorts World in Queens.I'd like to see a flying junction there too, but this one isn't about creating jobs or making things more efficient; it's more about maximizing noise at minimum cost. |
