Are those GE R16's in storage ?Yes, look at the roofs, not a spec of steel dust. Haven't turned a wheel for some time. GE R-16's in mothballs at Rockaway Park, Fresh Pond and Concourse yards to name a few. Notice the B and S route signs, though the latter may be from the Bankers RR service. Can't say for sure if those GE R-16's were on the (B) or not. Maybe the (S) was for a dead head move. There seems to be an R27 in the background signed BB, and also a couple of R10 sets. I don't know, lots of mysteries in that photo, like the appearance of R 10's. I heard those r-46's were there for some repair work of sorts at ENY shops. Bill Newkirk |
