IIRC that time it was Chase & Sanborn or some other under roasted powder.
I am a dark Fr roast guy, and courtesy of a dear friend have a restaurant grade espresso machine, so, spoiled by genuine first class.
As to pastry quality, I live near several artisanal bakeries whose croissants and danishes are excellent.
