The problem with the N, Q, R, W letters is that when the original color was selected for the N, the background color was more of a gold which showed up the white letter better. The supposed story was that the contractor selected for the group of signs for the new color schemes was unable to supply an actual gold color and substituted yellow. Since white on yellow was difficult to see, the decision was made top have black letters on the yellow instead. |
