Baby Boomers were raised by "Depression Babies' and through the 1970's recession and high inflation. Yes, we had it easier, more cradle-to-grave private employment through the 1980's, defined benefit pension plans, cheaper tuition, but also brought up with some sense of frugality, and were not issued credit cards away in college (banks would not issue them to such in the 1970's)- your parent's $50 check mailed to every week or two is how you learned to manage money. |
