Talk of wires on the Island is DOA. The only way that would make sense is to get rid of all the third rail and replace them with wires, which the NIMBYs would be against sight-wise.Wires were tried once on Long Island, back in 1908. One can have pipe dreams of what could have been, but that's about it. |
