The Lex Av el was built with all side platforms with no space for a center track. As for the Culver, with the exception of the 5th Av el all the Southern Division els were dual contract construction unlike the Eastern els which had to be rebuilt for 3rd tracking and upgrading for steel cars. Even when the Culver was exclusively an el line prior to the opening of the Nassau Cut, it was able to hold steel cars since it was built as part of the dual contracts. |
