Excellent pictures.

The structure reminds me of what President Lincoln said when he saw a bridge erected by Union General Herman Haupt and his engineers during the war:

"That man Haupt has built a bridge four hundred feet long and one hundred feet high, across Potomac Creek, on which loaded trains are passing every hour, and upon my word, gentlemen, there is nothing in it but cornstalks and beanpoles."

The bridge in your photos doesn't look like it can support that huge train, but like the old general's masterpiece, there it is.
