Yes, there have been some modest discussions about expanding electrification... We can probably expect Central Branch electrification and a "study" for the Port Jefferson Branch in the 2020-2024 Capital Program and that's it.

There's not really enough room for wye tracks on either end without taking property and/or having a very tight/slow curve.

Central Branch detours add a ton of time...at least an hour or so, so it's not like it would be all that useful outside extraordinary disruptions.
