I live in western Pa. near Pittsburgh. I have family in Woodside, Bayside, Mineola & Massapequa. When I drive in to socialise, my routing of choice is Rte 22 to I-99, I-80 to the GWB & Triboro or Throgs Neck. I just get hit with tolls on the NYC metro bridges. I save $50-75 each way in tolls by avoiding the Pa & NJ tnpks. I always try to avoid I-81 since there is always bumper to bumper traffic at 70MPH, much construction coupled with "Kamakasie" tractor trailer/tandem drivers that never give you a break & would run you off the road in a heartbeat.
