FWIW, Newsom's staff partially "walked back" some of the headlines you all got on the national news. The local take in NorCal is more, build what is under construction, scratch heads see what can be salvaged next. "Other projects"??? not clear what you are referenciing.
As to already canceled state boondoggle, that seems to describe "Gateway" as canceled by Christie. Remind me please; did Fed funding allocated to Gateway get paid back?
boondoggle is of course in the eye of the beholder/taxpayer.
