The police have no rights beyond those of common citizens. They are agents of the State and as such have to operate within the strictures imposed on them. Random stop and frisk violates people’s rights. Maybe if the police hadn’t gone hog-wild with stop and frisk, their reasonable searches wouldn’t have needed to be scrutinized. |
