Here's a photo from arrts-arrchives.com looking east at Pennsylvania Av showing the LIRR cut and cover construction under the el:

At the same time they were putting the LIRR underground they were also building the IND subway along Pennsylvania Av crossing under the LIRR tunnel at Pennsylvania Av.

The el ended near Logan St. It lasted only about 40 years.
