I also remember that about the #4 cutback proposal. However, While living in Woodhaven at that time I'd often take the J to work In Manhattan. I'd get on at Woodhaven Blvd midday to some of the most filthy (and almost empty) R-27/30s, or a mixed train of R16-27s. It had filth on top of graffiti, both inside and out, no heat or working fans & many door leafs immobile. On these rolling wrecks, it would be a crap shoot if the train would keep some sort of schedule.Taking the Q60 Green Bus to the IND was no help either. Wait & wait & wait, then 3 buses would come by. Then there's Woodhaven Blvd Traffic. As for the J, I always thought of it as a TA plot as in make the service so undesireable, chase away riders & now we have a reason to kill the line, a tactic used by the TA time & time again. Thankfully, it didn't work on that section of the Jamaica Ave El. |
