Re: Classon Avenue Mezzanine and closed exit?

True. There used to be two booths, one near the exit on the east side of Prospect Park West and the north end of the circle and that passageway to the exit on the east side and the other, I think, was all the way down at the Windsor Place exit. The current booth is between Windsor and 16th. It's been there for years, ever since the old IND built-in booth were replaced. I'm pretty sure the one at the north end got a modern replacement before being eliminated to save money.

Prospect Park Southwest, on which there are two entrances just below the circle, was known at "15th Street" (and, south of the turn, "Coney Island Avenue" and, before that "Coney Island Road") until around 1915, the articles in the Brooklyn Eagle archives are correct. Perhaps the locals still called it 15th Street when the IND was built. A lot of the old timers still call the part of Prospect Park West between the circle and Green-Wood Cemetery "Ninth Avenue" even though the name was changed in 1895.
