How Astoria? (All of the other stuff you mentioned I see).Astoria would just go from N/W to 2x W ("W1"/"W2"), right? Meanwhile, this plan would require extra trainsets. Basically you would now have 5 lines operating on Broadway: N, Q, R, W1, and W2. The R reliability would be slightly increased by not having to wait for trains crossing north of 34th St. Perhaps that combined with being given some sort of priority over the W at the 11th St cut can make it a mostly reliable route again (it would still have to potentially wait for the M to merge to/from the E at Queens Plaza, both ways). |
