There is no PTC on the subway.The trippers and signal system provide PTC functionality. It will stop the train, if the operator passes a stop signal. It will stop a train, if the operator exceeds a maximum safe speed in a timed track section. One exception is that it does not prevent a leader from backing into its follower. |
