If pound-for-pound stainless steel were stronger than aluminum, they'd be building airliners out of stainless steel instead of aluminum.You are comparing apples to oranges. Airplane manufactures do not build their products to withstand the forces applied couplers and abnormal impacts. They also do not build products to carry 100 percent of their loads on 2 areas that total roughly 10 square feet 100 percent of the time. John in the sand box of Maryland's eastern shore. |
