Obviously today if the full 3rd Avenue EL had been kept, the line likely would have been heavily traveled and likely run from say 5:30 AM-1:00 PM or so southbound and 1:30-11:00 PM northbound on weekdays, from say 8:00 AM-2:00 PM southbound and 2:30-8:00 PM northbound on Saturdays and say 9:00 AM-2:00 PM southbound and 2:30-7:00 PM northbound on Sundays (yes, I suspect this line would have weekend express service).Today, these trains if so would likely have been on what would now be the Battery Park City (former City Hall) branch that would now be the main branch of the 3rd Avenue EL, running from West Thames Street in Manhattan (actually going the opposite direction of their main route at the very end/very beginning of the route) and the northern terminus. |
