Re: LA Metro to recommend letters over numbers and colors

Well, if all rail lines are considered, the Blue Line (light rail) opened first. So it would be the A, followed by the Red Line as B. The Purple Line is tricky, while it was originally a branch of the Red Line, and actually opened before the Red Line segments to Hollywood and North Hollywood (July 1996, June 1999 and June 2000, respectively). Meanwhile, the Green Line opened before any of those (August 1995). So who knows what they'll do. I think the BRT bus lines (Orange and Silver) don't need letters. They can use their official route numbers (901 for Orange, 910 for Silver). Just use 900-series for all BRTs and people will get the idea.
